Good Morning,
I want to share with each of you that we have seen a massive uptick in phishing attempts since last night to go along with the beginning of the spring semester. We are working to address these messages as quickly as possible. Many of the phishing attempts we have seen in the previous 24 hours have included information about financial aid or bank disbursements.
When you receive emails, please verify the email address from which you are receiving the message. You will never receive an official Tarleton-related email from a Gmail address. Also, if you receive an email you believe to be a phishing attempt, feel free to select “Report Message” in Outlook to share it with Microsoft and your Tarleton Security Team. Please continue to report because each time we block one bad address, another is used for phishing our campus members.
If you receive an email and question its validity, please feel free to share it with us at phishelp@tarleton.edu. We will review it and let you know if the message is legitimate. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Thanks!
Cory
