Dear Tarleton State Family,
I am deeply saddened by recent reports of anonymous hate that have affected our tight-knit university and the nation as a whole. Hurtful words and actions that do not represent our core values of excellence, integrity and respect will not be tolerated at Tarleton State.
This has absolutely no place on our campus or anywhere else.
Our leadership team acted immediately in initiating an investigation. Dr. Diana Ortega, Dr. Sherri Benn and their teams have been meeting face-to-face with impacted students. We are all committed to ensuring that everyone feels safe, included and supported. Anyone wishing to meet with Dr. Ortega or Dr. Benn can reach out to them directly.
Reporting knowledge or information is vital to keeping our university a safe place to work, live and study. If you see something, say something.
We have support services available within our Division of Student Engagement and Success. To learn more about these resources, please contact Vice President Ortega at vpstudents@tarleton.edu.
In closing, Texans take care of Texans. It is important that we all stand together and support one another.
Dr. James Hurley
President
