The Texan Trail Transcript is a comprehensive record of skill attainments, engagements and achievements obtained outside the classroom while enrolled at Tarleton State.

To earn the cord, students must complete at least three pathways chosen from seven unique categories including effective leadership, global awareness, lifelong learning, networking, professionalism, service learning and social wellness.

“It has been our commitment to push forward to capture our students’ experience outside of the classroom to enhance their academic achievements inside the classroom,” said Lathes Towns, Executive Director of Campus Life and Family Engagement as a part of the Division of Student Engagement and Success.

Creation of the TTT program correlates with Tarleton Forward 2030: Our Future Focused Strategic Plan and touches on multiple goals from the strategic plan. These include supporting the well-being and success of all students, consistently outpacing peers in engagement and achievement rates with a strong commitment to enhancing opportunity, access, and affordability, and promoting student socio-economic mobility and gainful employment through market-driven pathways, streamlined program navigation, and career readiness.

More than 200 students are on pace to earn their TTT Cords in future graduation ceremonies.

A founding member of The Texas A&M System, Tarleton State is breaking records — in enrollment, research, scholarship, athletics, philanthropy and engagement — while transforming the lives of nearly 17,000 students in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Bryan and online. True to Tarleton’s values of excellence, integrity and respect, academic programs emphasize real world learning and address regional, state and national needs.
