Dear Parents,
The school year is coming to the end. Many of our Tarleton Parents Association (TPA) member’s Parents will be stepping down from their position due to their students graduating, transferring to another college, or simply taking a leave of absence. On behalf of Tarleton State and the T.P.A. board members, we want to thank you for journeying with us during your membership time. We extend to you a heartfelt, warm wish of goodness as you go forward.
Thank you for being a good member in standing and to the commitment you made when you first signed on. Your time with us increased our strength to continue as a thriving branch attached to the Tarleton College tree. Your participation kept the association strong.
Do not forget to wear now and in the future the T.P.A. cap/t-shirt you received when you first signed on. When you look at I hope it bring back memories from the first time you came to Tarleton during student/parent orientation. Remember the joy and anxious moments of watching your student prepare to take flight away from home. Tarleton Parents Association volunteer staff were there to give you a lifeline. Give yourselves a slap on the back for hooking up to get a transfusion of PURPLE!
Special thanks to those who volunteered their time. It is not easy to remember names but I can see many of the smiling faces working the trenches during tailgate season. Crazy thanks to all of you that came to stuff Duck bags. The team effort to accomplish the feat should be recognized and hailed as “The Mighty Parents” Day.
Life is full of change. When one door closes, another opens. Your time as a member parent is approaching the end, but not your role as a parent. Our kids are a gift from above and until we stop being a parent our loving jobs continue. Up or down, good and bad, our parental love will always be the flame that burns to fuel our fight for our kids well being.
Do not think that your membership is of the past. You will always be a member in spirit. Stay in touch by visiting the Tarleton Parents Association website to get updates about our growth. In your quiet time, take a couple of moments to remember Tarleton and those special times that put a smile on your face.
It has been a privilege to travel with you.
Sincerely and with much gratitude,
The T.P.A. board members and all the rest of the Tarleton family
Patrick Muhney (2nd vice president board member)
